Referees play an important role in halftime matches, often much bigger than just judging the match. There are special referee matches in WWE 2K24 that allow you to take control of the referees and judge or be judged.

WWE 2K24 also lets you play as a referee, and your mission is to make sure all the rules are followed. That means counting pinfalls, handling rope breaks, and even disqualifying wrestlers for making sneaky moves. Do a poor job, however, and you could be demoted to a manager or fired altogether. Many of the unlockable wrestlers, including some legendary names, can be chosen as referees.

First, go to the Play menu and select One-on-one match. Then change the match type to 'Special Guest Referee'. Special Referee Match can only be selected for One-on-One match. Go to the wrestler selection screen and check the middle box to select the referee. Please note that referees do not have to be the same gender as the wrestlers; for example, Stone Cold can referee Divas.
