Microsoft has begun moving its Xbox Cloud Gaming servers from the Xbox One S to Series X hardware, delivering improved visuals and load times for streaming games.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Quest 2 😱
Xbox Cloud Gaming has offered players the ability to stream games for some time now, even on mobile devices, with Xbox One S hardware used with its servers. Moving to the more powerful Xbox Series X will likely improve the experience for most, if not all, available titles. It should also support streaming to devices with larger screens.
The Verge's Jay Peters noted that Dirt 5 shows improved load times and stable performance, while Forza Horizon 4 shows no change and is likely still running on the older system. Some Xbox Cloud games are reportedly loading faster, while others offer improved graphical options in their menus.
Verge senior editor Tom Warren also noticed the improved visual settings for both Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Rainbow Six Siege.
