XDefiant's game director has confirmed that the Spiderbot was unintentionally buffed as part of the Season One update. However, this issue should be fixed soon.
The Spiderbot was accidentally POWERED in XDefiant! | (Solutions to come)
While yesterday’s season one update added new weapons, a new faction, a new map, and more to XDefiant, the patch also inadvertently made one of the game’s most annoying abilities even worse.
"So when the game launched, there was a bug where you could shoot at your feet and destroy the spiderbot," Rubin said on Twitter/X. "That wasn't the intention. However, there was also a bug where it made it much harder to shoot them off your own face than it should have been. So we wanted to keep the shooting them off your own face bug in the game until we could address other issues with spiderbots. However, the bugfix was integrated into the Season One patch, and so an important counter was inadvertently removed."
XDefiant players immediately took to social media to complain about the Spiderbot after yesterday’s update went live, pointing out that the Spiderbot felt more powerful despite the supposed nerf that increased the cooldown and changed the bot’s behavior.
