The developers at XDefiant have confirmed that one of the most requested game modes in the first season will be released, much earlier than originally planned.

Since XDefiant’s release, players have been asking for multiple game modes to be added. The developers have shown they’re listening, with Team Deathmatch quickly added—and another huge mode coming in Season One.

In a preview video for the new season, in a section dedicated to answering questions from the community, XDefiant developers confirmed that a Search and Destroy game mode is in the works. This mode was originally set to appear in Year One, but a quick switch to updated notes revealed that due to the continued desire to have the mode appear in XDefiant, a change has been made to the roadmap. As such, Bomb, the new Search and Destroy mode, will be added in Season One.

There was also positive news regarding other highly requested features coming to XDefiant, with a Prestige system “already in development” and a killcam being worked on “currently”, though a full release date has not yet been confirmed.
