XDefiant players' complaints about a recent change to weapon control level were heard loud and clear.

Ubisoft confirmed today that it will be speeding up the weapon mastery level grind, after making it significantly more difficult in a recent update. It will now take half as long to gain a mastery level when grinding towards Bronze, Silver, and Gold camos for specific weapons.

"Earlier this week, we unlocked the mastery system at higher levels, making it take longer to unlock mastery skins," Ubisoft said in a message on Twitter/X. "We heard the feedback: weapon XP is now twice as fast."

With the upcoming change, primary weapon ranks will now only cost 1,500 XP instead of 3,000 XP, while secondary weapons will only cost 500 XP instead of 1,000. The change will come in an upcoming patch that does not yet have a current release date.
