XDefiant has achieved an impressive number of players in its first week of full release. The future looks bright for Ubisoft’s new high-octane first-person shooter.
#1 player on XDefiant Beta gets BANNED…
According to a report from Insider Gaming published on May 28, XDefiant, which released on May 21, reached 7.6 million unique players in its first week, with a concurrent peak of 700,000. To be clear, a unique player is someone who has downloaded the game and launched it at least once, while concurrent players are people who play the game at the same time.

The number of concurrent players says a lot more about the success and continued health of a game than unique players, especially if it’s a free-to-play game like XDefiant. 700,000 concurrent players is considerably smaller than 7.6 million, but it’s still nothing to sneeze at. When compared to Steam player counts, it puts XDefiant in the top three concurrent players alongside behemoths like Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.
