Ubisoft’s much-hyped online shooter XDefiant released its first-ever Battle Pass season on July 2, 2024. It brings with it a new faction, new maps, new modes, new weapons, new skins, a new ranked mode – and the same old performance and netcode issues.
#1 player on XDefiant Beta gets BANNED…
Fanfare surrounding XDefiant Season 1’s new faction the GSK (hailing from Ubisoft’s massively popular Rainbow Six franchise), as well as new maps and revamped ranked mode has been severely dampened by a plethora of performance and balance issues. Chief among these is the severe framerate drops that players on the PS5 have been experiencing after updating the game.

The game’s subreddit has been ablaze with complaints about extremely low framerates on the PS5 following the patch, as well as the ever-present hit registration and netcode issues, all of which make the game feel like it’s running on a PS1 rather than Sony’s latest hardware. Not good.
