XDefiant is all about heart-pounding run-and-gun action. Submachine guns, also known as SMGs, are the optimal weapon type for getting in close and taking out enemies quickly.

SMGs do have limitations, however. Their range is shorter than assault rifles and their clip sizes are smaller. You need to know which SMG in XDefiant hits the hardest in each category so you can take full advantage of this powerful weapon type.

At the time of writing, there are only four SMGs in XDefiant, meaning this tier list can only have four tiers. SMGs are some of the best weapons in the game, so it makes sense to skip the D-Tier and keep every weapon here between S and C.

The MP7 almost feels broken considering how much better it is than its SMG counterparts. Its firepower and mobility are nearly identical to the Vector’s, but it has a significantly larger clip size by SMG standards. The downside would have to be its decreased accuracy, which may be true at longer ranges compared to the MP5 and P90, but at the average usable SMG ranges any drop in accuracy is barely noticeable. The end result is an SMG that feels incredibly strong, and ready for the first wave of Ubisoft nerfs.
