If your XDefiant matches are full of snipers who love to take everyone out at once and suck the fun out of the game, you’re in luck, because things are about to change. Ubisoft is implementing some major nerfs to long-range weapons in order to provide some counterplay.
Are snipers still good in XDefiant after NERF?
In a post to X (formerly Twitter) on May 29, XDefiant executive producer Mark Rubin said, "Right now we're adding flinch, so if you get hit you can't just turn around, point, click, and delete people," while also adding that the nerfs should come in a later patch.
Rubin said that snipers are currently "buggy" and that the developers want to fix the weapons and re-evaluate their strengths in XDefiant.
Snipers like the TAC-50 and M44 have become famous for being annoying, allowing players to miss a headshot but still get off a one-shot by hitting enemies in the body. Due to this unprecedented power, snipers have been hailed as the go-to weapon of choice for players since the game's release.
