I’ve been writing a lot about pizza lately. (You may have noticed.) Even though I’ve eaten all that experimental pizza, I still want more. Luckily, Thursday is Pi Day, so I can pretend my diet was part of my masterful pizza plan. As you begin your own mathematical celebration, I encourage you to make pi sustainable and start with a leftover pizza.
The Best Ways to Reheat Leftover Pizza (and the Worst) | Epicurious 101
I rarely ate pizza as a kid because I hated tomato sauce. Now that I’ve become more open to the bright, tangy gravy (and have been looking into alternative pizza sauces), I’m making up for lost time. I buy frozen pizza dough, the kind you’ll find in the refrigerated or frozen section of my grocery store, but I don’t make your average margherita or pepperoni pie. Instead, I use leftovers as toppings. It’s simple: I stretch the dough, spread sauce on it, and throw a bunch of last night’s dinner on top, along with some shredded mozzarella. You won’t be surprised to learn that adding bread and cheese can transform even the most boring leftovers into a downright awesome pizza.
