As a critical thinker and a huge fan of frozen pizza, I’m embarrassed that I only just learned about this trick. Part of me is annoyed that there’s no excuse to eat an entire DiGiorno in one sitting. I used to think of frozen pizza as a one-time deal. You buy a whole pie. You bake the whole pie. You refrigerate the leftovers, and they never taste as good. It turns out that last part is never necessary. You can have a better frozen pizza experience by simply slicing the pizza ahead of time.
Big Mistakes Everyone Makes With Frozen Pizza
Cutting a frozen pizza into pieces before storing or baking it has many more benefits than storing it in the box it came in.
No more leftovers. I’m gifted at eating a large amount of food by myself, but this is more of a talent than a standard. An entire frozen pizza might just be too much. For people who only eat pizza, a few slices might be enough. Do the other five pizzas have to end up in the fridge for a bland, rubbery future? No more. Instead, pre-cut the frozen pizza into individual portions so you can control how much you want, depending on your appetite on a given day.
Saves space in your freezer. I once had three boxes of pizza in my freezer when I was busy preparing for the holidays and it was a nightmare. Those boxes are space hogs. By cutting the pizza into smaller portions, you can stack and store the pieces in a more reasonable group. For even more freezer flexibility, you can wrap the pieces individually and stuff them into a freezer space somewhere.
