iOS 16 is out for iPhone. If you haven't upgraded yet, do it ASAP.
How to Install iOS 16 – How to Update iPhone to iOS 16 Tutorial
In addition to major security updates, iOS 16 brings a bunch of great new features, some of which make your iPhone look prettier and others that make it significantly easier to use. But not everything is available yet. Thanks to Apple’s phased release schedule, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura aren’t arriving until next month. That means one of the best new features of the year has been delayed until then. But as we’ll see in a moment, there’s a lot more where that came from.
“The feature that most people will appreciate is customizable lock screens and lock screen widgets, especially if they upgrade to an iPhone 14 Pro, which has an Always-On display that takes advantage of these features the most,” Josh Centers, author of Take Control of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, told Lifewire via email. “The best feature, though, is Passkey, which eliminates the need for passwords and makes logging into apps and websites much easier and more secure.”
This is perhaps the most obvious new feature in iOS 16, as it lets you customize the clock text on your lock screen and add widgets that can launch apps and/or provide environmental information. And for those who purchase a new iPhone 14 Pro this year, these widgets work great with that model’s always-on display, allowing you to glance at the screen at any time.
