Samsung has just started taking pre-orders for its upcoming revamped Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphone.
Samsung Z Flip 5 review: I was wrong!
The main draw of the new Flip5 is its larger outer display, called the Flex Window. This is the screen you open when the phone is folded, and it’s now nearly four times larger than the previous generation, allowing for more customization options. You also have access to a wide range of graphical clocks and other widgets that fit the design language of the Galaxy Watch6 devices.
New widgets include a media controller, Google Finance, an updated weather app, and more. These can all be accessed without opening the device. The same goes for access to chat histories, your Samsung Wallet, boarding passes, membership cards, digital keys, and more.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 also has a much-improved camera system, with a single rear-facing camera that, when folded, is perfect for selfies. This rare camera also integrates with its own software, allowing for hands-free photography and easy editing. There’s an upgraded camera stabilization algorithm and a new auto-framing system. There’s also a 10x digital zoom for tackling tricky shots.
