Apple has lowered the trade-in values for some Android phones it accepts. The move results in maximum values that are nearly $100 lower than they were before, making Android phones worth less to the tech giant than trading in for its own devices.

For those who don’t know, Apple has been pushing more users to adopt their iPhones and in recent years, it has started accepting trade-ins for your older devices. This essentially allowed you to get some money back on the device you were using, while putting it towards the purchase of a new device. While Apple doesn’t accept all Android phones, the phones it does accept have recently undergone a change in value.
MacRumors was first to spot the changes, noting that affected devices are the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G and Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G. Not all eligible devices saw changes, however. Trade-in values for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 3a haven't changed, and Apple also adjusted some trade-in prices for its Mac and iPads.
