Sony is rolling out a PS5 system software beta update worldwide on Wednesday that includes speaker improvements to the speakers on the controllers and improved noise cancellation. A PS app update with similar improvements is also on the way.

When watching someone else play a game on PS5 via Share Screen, you can now use pointers and emoji reactions to your host's gameplay.
"While beta access is limited to invited participants in select countries, we plan to release the update globally in the coming months," Sony said in a statement. "If you are selected to participate in the beta, you will receive an email invitation today when it is available for download. Some features available during the beta phase may not make it into the final version or may undergo significant changes."
According to Sony, the controller speakers will now be slightly louder, so you'll be able to hear both in-game and chat audio more clearly. The microphones are also getting an upgrade to noise cancellation, so your button presses and TV game audio won't leak into your mic feed. If it's getting too loud, Sony notes that you can turn the speaker volume down via the PS5's control center.
