Most streaming services allow you to download songs for offline listening, whether that’s via the app or on your desktop. But that’s not the case for YouTube Music, particularly the web version. Fortunately, there’s finally reason to cheer there too. YouTube Music is apparently rolling out the ability to download songs to desktop users. So if you’re plagued by spotty Wi-Fi or have to travel frequently, you don’t have to miss out on your music any longer.
How do I download music/songs/videos from YouTube Music to listen to offline?
For a long time, offline listening was only possible on the YouTube Music app for smartphones, and all smart features, such as smart downloads, were reserved for the app. Fortunately (and finally!) YouTube is expanding support for downloading songs to its web app as well.
While the rollout hasn't been officially announced yet, at least one Reddit user noticed a "Download" option (alongside the "Save to Library" option) on album pages. Clicking it will start the download in the bottom left corner.
You can find all of your downloaded songs under the Downloads tab on your Library page. It appears that YouTube Music allows you to download playlists, podcasts, songs, and albums.
