Football fans are having the time of their lives at EURO 2024. Despite being one of the biggest sporting events of the year, security could clearly be better. A YouTuber has found a way to sneak into a match dressed as a mascot.
Sneaking into the 2024 European Championship as a fake mascot
German content creator Marvin tested security at the opening match of EURO 2024. He ordered a replica of the tournament mascot and forged employee passes to get into the match. Marvin then managed to drive into the Allianz Arena on 14 June and ended up on the pitch for the match.
Marvin also drove a Volkswagen car that the officials will use during EURO 2024. After decorating it with German football logos, he dressed up as a mascot and went to the stadium. After a check at the entrance, security let Marvin and his friend in.
Once the toughest part of the mission was completed, Marvin put on the mascot’s head and went out onto the pitch. He stood in one of the fan zones along the pitch and even took a photo with legendary German star Mario Götze, who won the 2014 World Cup. But things soon went wrong.
