Zoom announced several updates on Monday as part of its annual conference, Zoomtopia 2021.
Using language interpreters in your meeting or webinar
Most notably, the company said it would expand its automated transcription technology to 30 languages and add live translation to 12 more by the end of next year. Zoom said it would use machine learning and natural language processing technology to transcribe the spoken language, which attendees can then have translated into their preferred language.
Another big update is the platform’s whiteboarding feature, which gives users access to Zoom Whiteboard anytime, anywhere. For example, you can share a whiteboard via email or Zoom Chat, and add sticky notes, comments, and drawings for brainstorming sessions.
“We’re excited to announce that we’re building a new, persistent whiteboarding experience that will enable powerful, easy-to-use visual collaboration before, during, and after a virtual meeting,” Zoom said in a separate blog post about the Whiteboard feature.
