These are the 2024 Emmy nominations
The 76th Emmy Awards will feature some of the entertainment industry's best filmmakers competing against each other.
Oscar winner Ron Howard's Jim Henson Idea Man earned eight Emmy nominations this morning, more than any other nonfiction contender in the race. The Disney+ film about the Muppets creator is nominated for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special, with Howard getting a nod for directing. Howard is far from the only prominent name to receive recognition in the documentary categories. Rob Reiner was nominated for directing Albert Brooks: Defending My Life , and his HBO documentary is up against Jim Henson’s Idea Man in the Nonfiction Special category. Reiner and Brooks have been friends for more than 50 years.
