CNN: Earthquake felt at Dodgers game
Tonight, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck northern Los Angeles County. The quake was felt across much of the region. The earthquakes were felt from Santa Monica to Camarillo, Long Beach and Dodger Stadium, where more than 47,000 people were present.
The epicenter of the quake was about 18.5 miles southwest of Bakersfield and about 89 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 9:09 p.m.
This was followed by a series of aftershocks in quick succession. The first was measured less than a minute later on the Richter scale, followed by a 3.0 magnitude aftershock at 9:14 p.m., a 4.0 magnitude at 9:17 p.m., and a 3.8 magnitude after a few seconds.
