“9-1-1: Lone Star” will officially end with its upcoming Season 5 on Fox.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 First Look (HD) Final Season
The 12-episode final season of the drama series will premiere on September 23, with the series finale now scheduled for early 2025.
Series leader Rob Lowe had previously said in an August interview with Variety that he expected the show to end with Season 5, but Fox had not confirmed the news until now. "We all went into it knowing it was going to be the last season, so that affected everything we did," Lowe said in the interview. "We really wanted to show everyone what's still possible on network television if people are willing to do it."
The decision to end the first responder drama is not surprising, as its companion series “9-1-1” moved from Fox to ABC earlier this year. Both series are produced by 20th Television, now part of Disney following the 21st Century Fox-Disney merger. Fox Entertainment has since attempted to either own or co-own the shows outright.
