Ahead of its October 9 return, it's been revealed that Abbott Elementary Season 4 will include a crossover episode with the long-running FX comedy It's Always Sunny in the Philadelphia. This crossover was actually first announced by the cast of the acclaimed ABC sitcom during the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2024.

Confirming the upcoming crossover episode is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and star Rob McElhenney, who shared a photo on social media with co-stars Charlie Day and Danny Devito posing in front of Abbott Elementary school. In the photo, McElhenney, Day and Devito are joined by Abbott Elementary stars Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams and Mr. Johnson.

Abbott Elementary is a workplace comedy created and executive produced by Brunson, who also stars as Janine Teagues. The sitcom also stars Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson and Emmy Award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard. For its third season, the show earned nine Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
