ABC's 20/20 episode "Night Terror" will now reexamine the conviction of Brandon Dale Woodruff for the 2005 murder of his parents. Authorities believed he killed his parents, Dennis and Norma Woodruff, because of his secret homosexual life. Brandon, who is serving a life sentence, maintains his innocence and has agreed to be interviewed by 20/20 for their segment on the case. The episode will re-air on the network on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Brandon Dale Woodruff is now serving a life sentence without parole in the Michael Unit, according to the Texas Department of Corrections. The case has received a lot of media attention over the years, and Brandon continues to maintain his innocence in the murders of Dennis and Norma Woodruff. ABC News reported that his supporters have started a movement to have him released from prison. Allegations have surfaced that his 2009 trial was biased, as eight of the 12 jurors who found him guilty believed homosexuality was immoral.
