ABC has picked up the Tim Allen-starring series Shifting Gears as a series, but will continue without the writers who created the show.

Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully leave the comedy that centers on Matt (Allen), the headstrong, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt's estranged daughter Riley (Kat Dennings) and her kids move in with him, the real restoration begins.
It's not yet known who will replace the Scullys, but Deadline understands that Allen has been looking for a replacement for the showrunner for weeks.
