Investigation into animal abuse launched after disturbing vet video footage surfaces
A former leading zoologist and crocodile expert, who worked on programs for the BBC and Nat Geo, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in Australia for sexually abusing dogs.
Adam Britton, who previously advised David Attenborough on crocodiles for a docuseries, pleaded guilty to 56 charges of bestiality and cruelty, the BBC reported.
Britton was a leading zoologist and had previously been praised for his work, but it has since emerged that he had a sexual interest in dogs. According to court documents seen by the BBC, he tortured at least 42 dogs and killed 39 of them. The BBC said the files only detail his crimes in the 18 months before his arrest, but still run to more than 90 pages.
