Adidas faces criticism after Bella Hadid ad embarrasses Israel and Palestine | First Sports with Rupha Ramani
The Guardian newspaper reports that the sportswear company has said it is "reviewing" its campaign to promote a trainer first launched to mark the 1972 Munich Olympics, when 11 members of the Israeli team were taken hostage and later killed by Palestinian terrorists.
Hadid, who has Palestinian roots, was previously criticized by the Israeli government for allegedly chanting the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” and was accused of anti-Semitism.
The official Israeli account on X (formerly Twitter) said it objected to Hadid being “the face of [the Adidas] campaign.”
