The man with one of the most severe cases of Tourette's syndrome in the UK | This morning
EXCLUSIVE: Aidy Smith is on a mission to convince traditional TV networks to give presenters with Tourette syndrome a chance.
Smith says he is the only TV presenter in the UK to have been diagnosed with Tourette syndrome. In the US, there are only a handful of people diagnosed with the syndrome. The crux of his problem lies in the lack of knowledge among directors and executives about what the syndrome is and how it manifests itself.
In an exclusive interview with Deadline, he said that “the room immediately goes silent” when he introduces the idea of directing a TV series to those who have the greenlight keys.
