Alec Baldwin's attorneys file surprise motion to dismiss manslaughter case
The twists and turns in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Alec Baldwin in the 2021 fatal shooting of Rust cameraman Halyna Hutchins have now taken a twisty turn.
In a surprise move on what was expected to be a long day of testimony, including potentially imprisoned Rust gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the judge in the case dismissed the jury after just minutes in court.
“I am going to adjourn your session for today,” Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer announced to jurors this morning at the Santa Fe County, NM, courthouse.
