Alexa Chung for Madewell | Madewell
Few people have mastered effortless high fashion as impressively as Alexa Chung, a fixture at the season’s most talked-about shows, a fixture at all the best parties in downtown New York, and a paparazzi favorite for her trendsetting off-duty model looks in the early 2000s. Despite all the articles about her style evolution over the years, her remarkably personal style really comes down to one thing: simplicity.
Now, fourteen years after her first partnership with Madewell, Chung and Gap-owned retailer Madewell have launched a new capsule collection inspired by Chung’s own decades-spanning wardrobe and filled with rare vintage finds from her travels around the world, alongside versatile basics like T-shirts and perfectly fitted denim jeans. The first half of the capsule, consisting of 14 new pieces, is available to shop now on Madwell.com, with the second half launching later this fall.
The capsule is primarily made up of denim (in the form of bootcut jeans, overalls, Western button-downs and ankle-length skirts) and brown suede (like this double-breasted blazer and mini skirt). A standout piece is a double-breasted blazer overcoat, which retails for $850.
