Alien: Romulus Starts Strong With $41 Million – Charts with Dan!
Disney's "Alien: Romulus" was the top film at the British and Irish box office in its opening weekend, taking in £3.7 million ($4.8 million), according to figures from Comscore.
The sci-fi horror film dethroned Sony's "It Ends With Us", which dropped to second place with £2.8 million in its second frame, bringing its total to £11.3 million. Disney's "Deadpool & Wolverine" held strong in third place, with £2.3 million in its fourth week for a cumulative gross of £48.4 million.
Trafalgar Releasing's 15th anniversary reissue of "Coraline" opened at No. 4 with £1.2 million. Universal's "Despicable Me 4" rounded out the top five and continued to do well in its sixth week, taking £1.1 million for a total of £38.7 million.
