Tom Gormican co-wrote the Columbia Pictures film and will direct it

Jack Black and Paul Rudd are in early negotiations to star in Columbia Pictures' remake of writer-director Tom Gormican's "Anaconda."

Gormican, who directed the meta Nicolas Cage film "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" and wrote "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F," co-wrote and will direct the new film "Anaconda," which is said to put a more comedic spin on the snake story. Kevin Etten is the co-writer.
