GROSS! Dancing With The Stars Cast CONVICTED CRIME Anna Delvey!? The View Hosts SLAM Disney For It!
Whoopi Goldberg and her “View” co-hosts criticized the casting of convicted felon Anna Delvey on Season 33 of “Dancing With the Stars” on the talk show Thursday.
Delvey is a con artist and fraudster who posed as a wealthy heiress to gain access to New York’s upper-class social and art scene from 2013 to 2017. Born to working-class parents in the Soviet Union, she emigrated with her family from Russia to Germany in 2007 at the age of 16. Although Delvey is best known for her con stunt, which earned her the Netflix series “Inventing Anna,” she was recently placed under house arrest by immigration officials for violating the terms of her visa. She is living under arrest in New York while her deportation case is reviewed, but U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has allowed her to appear on the show.
"I think back to all the families whose family members have been arrested by ICE and have gone to court to get their father, brother, mother back. This woman, they gave her permission to do this," Goldberg said on "The View," before asking, "Am I supposed to think there's a reason, is there a two-tiered system here at ICE?"
