For APC Studios, “The Eclipse,” an atmospheric procedural mystery thriller set in a rural community on France’s Aubrac plateau, could prove to be a winning formula with international buyers at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre and beyond.
Coming soon to France 2024 at Séries Mania / "The Eclipse" (6×52'), produced by Carma Films
The series revolves around a mystery that arises during an evening solar eclipse, when 17-year-old Luca accidentally shoots his girlfriend Nour. When he leaves to look for help, the young girl disappears. Manue and Johanna, two local female police officers, are sent to investigate, which will ultimately have consequences for their own families.
APC sums up the show in its tagline: "A powerful whodunit that takes us to a never-before-seen, beautiful French countryside. The duo of female police officers, mothers and friends, turns a small community inside out."
Emmanuelle Guilbart, APC’s joint CEO and founder, says the company picked up the six-part series “for many reasons,” primarily related to its pedigree. Namely, it was ordered by France Télévisions and produced by Carma Films, which also produced APC’s mystery-crime thriller and 2017 Netflix hit “The Forest.”
