Apple TV+ has ordered a series for “Widow's Bay,” which comes from creator Katie Dippold.

Hiro Murai has been attached to direct the pilot for the 10-episode series and also executive produce. The official logline states that the show will center on "a mysterious, cursed New England island and its superstitious citizens, led by a mayor who refuses to believe their warnings."
Dippold is the writer and executive producer of “Widow’s Bay” and will also serve as showrunner. Murai will executive produce with Claudia Shin, with Carver Karaszewski also executive producing. Apple Studios will produce.
Dippold previously wrote for shows including "Parks and Recreation," where she served as a writer for three seasons. Since then, she has written screenplays for films including "The Heat," the 2016 reboot of "Ghostbusters" and the 2023 film "Haunted Mansion."
