EXCLUSIVE: God Friended Me creators Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt are returning to CBS, teaming up with Laura Moran, the former writer/producer of The Neighborhood, James Wan's Atomic Monster and CBS Studios for Area 51.
The half-hour workplace comedy series, now in development, will be shot in a single-camera format, a sign that CBS is continuing to opportunistically pursue short films in the single-camera category. The company has had great success in this area with the recently departed powerhouse Young Sheldon and the still-popular Ghosts series.
Last year, CBS ordered only pilot episodes of multi-camera comedies. The two new comedies for next season are both multi-camera: Poppa's House and the Young Sheldon spin-off Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.
