Beau DeMayo and his legal team have responded to comments and reports about his firing from Disney's X-Men '97. They have accused the company of "gaslighting" and said legal action will follow.

Bryan Freedman, who represents DeMayo and has represented other Hollywood clients in wrongful termination cases, lashed out at Disney in a statement to Deadline on Friday. Freedman said the company follows a similar playbook of trying to "keep the truth" from people.
“My experience with Disney is that the script is always the same. Outwardly family-friendly, but secretly they try to plant illegal, unreasonable items in contracts that suppress the truth and prevent the employee/customer from asserting fundamental constitutional rights,” Freedman told Deadline.
Freedman went on to say that the pair will explain "with detailed examples" why Disney was wrong. Freedman did not address specific allegations, but did take issue with Disney's practices.
