The author of "The School for Good and Evil" Soman Chainani has brought his latest book, the political fantasy novel "Young World," to the stage. Told through prose and two-tone drawings, the title is described as "House of Cards" meets "Hunger Games."
The School for Good and Evil: A World Without Princes by Harper Collins
“Young World” follows the story of a 17-year-old who, against all odds, is elected President of the United States. The election quickly becomes a global movement, ushering in the party of Revolting Youth. But when the new teenage leaders meet for the first time at a G8 summit, things turn deadly — leaving a young American president to not only clear his name, but save the world from potential doom.
Several Hollywood producers are in advanced talks for the TV and film rights to “Young World,” which is being bundled through CAA.
The book marks Chainani’s first release since the film adaptation of his six-book hit fantasy series “The School for Good and Evil” premiered on Netflix on October 18, 2022. The film is executive produced by Chainani, directed by Paul Feig, and stars Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, and Ben Kingsley. The film debuted at #1 in 84 countries and has been viewed more than 225 million hours since launch.
