Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios have already turned Winnie the Pooh into a slasher horror with Blood and Honey . So why stop there? As part of the Twisted Childhood Universe, a Bambi horror film is in the works, called Bambi: The Reckoning , with director Dan Allen comparing the film to timeless horror classics.

Bambi: The Reckoning follows a mother and son who survive a car crash, only to have Bambi hunt them down. The famous deer is "a mutated, grief-stricken deer" who seeks revenge after his mother's death. Director Dan Allen compared his new horror film to Bloody Disgusting as "Cujo meets Jurassic Park."

There’s another classic horror film that Allen compares Bambi to that should excite any horror fan. “It’s going to be terrifying. If people see a deer in the wild after watching this one, they’re going to run for the hills. This is as much about the death of childhood as it is about the destruction of childhood. Expect bloodshed, tears, rabbits… and one nasty murderous deer. At long last, the British countryside is getting its Godzilla.”

The thing about horror movie creatures like Cujo, dinosaurs, and Godzilla is that you never know when they’re going to show up. It seems like Bambi: The Reckoning will have the same qualities, as a bloodthirsty beast lurking in the dark woods.
