BBC star Lauren Laverne reveals she has cancer and shares emotional message
BBC presenter and DJ Lauren Laverne has announced that she has cancer.
In a post on Instagram, the Desert Island Discs presenter said the cancer was recently discovered during a screening test, but that it was “caught early” and she is expected to make a full recovery.
She thanked the medical teams who “got me this far with incredible skill and kindness”, her friends and family, who have been “absolutely extraordinary every step of the way” and the teams at her agent, Independent Talent Group, radio station BBC 6 Music, BBC magazine series The One Show and Desert Island Discs, the influential music show she has presented since 2018.
