After Elizabeth Banks was given a pilot order by Fox over a year ago, the adult animated series Bedrock, about the Flintstones, is being canceled by the network.

Adult Flintstones sequel series announced for Fox | Bedrock

"The adult comedy follows the Flintstone family two decades later, with Fred on the brink of retirement and 20-year-old Pebbles starting her own career," the synopsis reads. "As the Stone Age gives way to a shiny and enlightened new Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock will find this evolution harder to navigate than a swing at Bamm-Bamm's club."

There are currently no plans to sell the show to other networks. However, according to TVLine, Fox is willing to redevelop Bedrock at a later date. Banks was originally attached to produce and voice a young adult version of Pebbles.

In addition to Banks, the canceled Bedrock series was to have featured the voices of Stephen Root, Amy Sedaris, Nicole Byer, Joe Lo Truglio and Manny Jacinto, who had previously been cast in the roles of Fred, Wilma, Betty, Barney and Bamm-Bamm, respectively. It was executive produced by Banks, Lindsey Kerns, Lon Zimmet, Max Handelman, Sam Register and Warner Bros. Television Group. It was a production between Warner Bros. Animation and Fox Entertainment.
