Beetlejuice Beetlejuice | Official Trailer 2
Moviegoers can expect a bloodier sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 cult classic, as Beetlejuice 2's MPA rating has been revealed, even higher than that of the original.
The upcoming horror comedy, titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, will hit theaters on September 6. In addition to Burton directing the sequel, the second Beetlejuice film also features a number of familiar faces returning, including Michael Keaton as Betelgeuse, Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O'Hara as Delia Deetz.
While 1988's Beetlejuice was rated "PG," the Warner Bros. sequel has been given a "PG-13" rating by the MPA due to "violent content, macabre and gory images, strong language, suggestive material, and brief drug use." The original film was released years after the "PG-13" rating was created.
