Hulu’s latest documentary, Betrayal: A Father’s Secret, explores how one woman learned chilling details about her husband’s inappropriate dealings. According to the documentary, Ashley Lytton went through her husband’s phone and found several explicit photos of underage girls. Reports indicate that Ashley told authorities about the discovery and helped put Jason Lytton behind bars. The court charged Jason with several charges, including sexual exploitation of a minor, and sent him to prison.
According to ABC News, Jason Lytton’s wife, Ashley Lytton, discovered the explicit material after her husband contacted her to create a Venmo account. However, after a few moments, he called her again and told her to forget about the account. Ashley said her husband sounded hysterical when he called her the second time. His tone made Ashley suspicious, and she decided to look on his computer. The outlet reported that she looked into her husband’s iCloud account and found the disturbing material.
ABC News quoted her statement, noting, "I went into his iCloud account and that's when I saw the hidden folder. I opened it up. I literally couldn't believe what I saw. The hidden folder contained pictures, hundreds of inappropriate pictures of children." ABC4 Utah reported that authorities discovered more than 1,000 explicit photos of underage girls on Jason Lytton's phone. They then found several videos of child pornography. After police arrested Jason, they charged him with 100 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
