Blue Eye Samurai: The creatives behind Netflix's Emmy-nominated series provide an update on Season 2
General editor of the variety
Netflix's "Blue Eye Samurai" took an early lead at this year's Primetime Emmys, taking home three awards as the Television Academy announced this year's winners in the categories of animation, costume design, innovation in emerging media programming and motion design. HBO/Max leads the network count so far with four (via "Taylor Mac's 24-Decade History of Popular Music," "Scavengers Reign," "Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake" and "Clone High").
The category entries that are judged are screened by a panel of professionals in their respective peer groups (Animation, Costume Design, Emerging Media Programming, and Motion and Title Design). And in each category, there is the possibility that one, more than one, or no entries will win an Emmy.
