Disney CEO says he is 'obsessed' with finding successor and would 'love to retire again'
Disney's Bob Iger seriously considered running for president
There has been talk of Bob Iger running for president of the United States for years, with people like Oprah Winfrey even publicly backing a possible candidacy for the Disney CEO in 2020. Iger had previously said he was considering running for the highest political office in America.
Iger has now revealed that an unnamed powerful member of the Democratic Party once encouraged him to run for president. "He said to me, 'You should run for president,' and I said, 'Tell me why?'" the Disney executive said on Wednesday's episode of the "Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa" podcast on SiriusXM. "And the first words out of his mouth were, 'Well, you really seem like the right person.' I said, 'Give me a chance. That's not enough.'"
Iger declined to identify the pol who made the comment, but denied to Ripa that it was Bill Clinton. "I never spoke to Bill Clinton about running for president," Iger said.
