FRIDAYPM: Right now, Todd Phillips' audacious Joker: Folie à Deux is looking at a reasonable $20M Friday, including last night's $7M, and hopes to stay above $50M but could fall to $45M from 4,102 theaters. In terms of numbers, despite being a PG-13 film, this looks far too much like The Marvels , with posted previews of $6.6M, a $21.6M first day and a disastrous $46.1M 3-day run. That film actually outpaced Joker 2 here, $270M-$190M. The fear is that the poor word of mouth for this film will increasingly prime it for a Saturday freefall.

RelishMix saw strong social media stats with the picture’s follower reach at 567.3 million across TikTok, YouTube, X, Instagram, and Facebook, which is 7% above superhero genre norms ahead of its opening. Lady Gaga’s fan base across all platforms clocked in at 231.3 million with 43.7 million views coming into her Instagram. However, the poor buzz following Venice, where the film was 62% fresh with critics on RT, trickled down to pre-sales, which were reported to not be great ahead of its opening.
