It's official. Brendan Gleeson is set for a major role in Amazon's upcoming Spider-Man Noir live-action series.

Variety exclusively reported in July, citing sources, that Gleeson would be joining the show, but his role has now been fully confirmed. Exact details about Gleeson's character are being kept under wraps, but it's believed he'll play the main villain.
Gleeson will star opposite series lead Nicolas Cage in the show, currently titled "Spider-Noir." Other cast members include Lamorne Morris, Abraham Popoola and Li Jun Li. As previously reported, the show will debut domestically on MGM+ linear, before launching globally on Amazon Prime Video.
According to the official logline, the series "tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York City, who is forced to grapple with his past as the city's only superhero."
