Brian Stelter is back at CNN.
CNN'S BRIAN STELTER CANCELLED!
In an email to subscribers of CNN's "Reliable Sources" media newsletter, Stelter said he will return as lead author of the publication he founded in 2015. He said he will relaunch the newsletter on Sept. 9.
Under CNN’s previous leadership, the news network parted ways with Stelter after canceling the show (also called “Reliable Sources”) in 2022. Stelter returns to take over the mantle of the “Reliable Sources” newsletter following the departure last month of Oliver Darcy, who came on board to work on the newsletter and was assigned to keep it moving. Darcy has launched a newsletter called “Status,” which covers media, entertainment and the tech industry.
"But this will not be a 'Back to the Future' remake," Stelter wrote in the email Tuesday. "The media industry has grown up, CNN has evolved, and I've changed a lot since I left two years ago. I loved my old life as a Sunday morning host, but to borrow some jargon from my video game blogger days, I've finished that level of the game. Time for new levels, new challenges."
