Benedict’s love interest in An Offer from a Gentleman (2001), the third book in Julia Quinn’s Bridgertoon book series, is Sophie Beckett, a girl from a modest background who catches Benedict’s eye at the Bridgerton masquerade ball. Now, fans are asking if Sophie will also be Benedict’s love interest on the show, and if the streaming giant has cast an actor to play her.

The aforementioned logline states that Benedict will meet a "glamorous Lady in Silver" at his mother's masquerade ball. Those familiar with the book will likely conclude that this is Sophie.

The series broke the chronology of the book series, adapting book 4 for season three. In season 3, Benedict explores aspects of his sexuality through a sexual relationship with Lady Tilley Arnold and her boyfriend Paul. Speaking to Tudum, Thompson explained that his character has always been a bit lost, but season four will be about him "trying to find something more solid within himself." Perhaps that's exactly what Sophie will bring into Benedict's life.
