WASHINGTON, Aug 2 (Reuters) – Kamala Harris is bracing for the fight of her life, if those close to her are anything to go by.
The vice president has surrounded herself with a group of seasoned candidates, many of whom are Black women who have been involved in Democratic politics for decades, as she prepares for a gruelling three-month campaign before the Nov. 5 election.
U.S. Sen. Laphonza Butler of California struck an optimistic tone this week when asked on MSNBC about the possibility that Harris would face a barrage of sexist and racist attacks.
