After his loss to Will Ospreay on AEW Dynamite, Danielson stated that he intended to win the world championship. Since joining AEW in 2021, he has made multiple attempts to capture the title, but has been unsuccessful each time. His most recent challenge for the AEW World Championship came at AEW Revolution last March, where he lost to MJF in an Iron Man match.
After losing to Will Ospreay in April, Bryan Danielson quickly regained his momentum, defeating Hangman Adam Page in the finals of the Owen Hart Tournament, earning him a shot at Swerve Strickland's AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium.
Bryan Danielson's history of concussions and neck injuries is well known. In a recent interview on AEW's YouTube channel, Danielson revealed that AEW doctor Doc Sampson advised him not to wrestle until All In. While this initially appeared to be part of a storyline, recent reports indicate that it may be a serious and genuine concern.
